Here in Wisconsin Dells, winter is one of our favorite seasons. Even though it’s renowned as the waterpark capital of the world, guests still flock to the Dells for their fair share of snowboarding, skiing, tubing and more! We want to highlight some of our favorite winter attractions that help make Wisconsin Dells one of the best vacation destinations year-round!
Cascade Mountain is one of the area’s premier skiing destinations, with excitement for newcomers and experts alike. With 36 trails, ranging from easy to challenging (and some over a mile long), Cascade provides fun for everyone, no matter their experience level. With ten lifts, four terrain parks, and five snow tube chutes, Cascade caters to the adventurous guests of all age ranges. Even better, Cascade Mountain offers free tickets to kids under 12 (with a paid adult), making it one of the best deals in the Dells.
Christmas Mountain Ski Village provides even more opportunities for thrilling skiing, with easy through difficult slopes for all. With over a mile of slopes, no ski vacation is complete without a trip to one of Wisconsin Dells’ most premier destinations for skiing and snowboarding.
Devil’s Head Resort is another of our favorite ski destinations, and is a must-see that guarantees fun on the slopes year-round. Named one of the “Midwest’s 10 Best Ski Resorts”, Devil’s Head has everything adventurous guests need for an unforgettable ski vacation. With some of the highest mountains in Wisconsin as home to cross-country skiing, tubing, snowboarding and more, Devil’s Head has been a longtime favorite of intermediate skiers for years. With long, scenic cruising slopes without the harshness of bumps and glades, there’s plenty of opportunities to bask in nature while also experiencing a thrill. Intermediate skiers aren’t the only ones loving Devil’s Head; beginner and advanced skiers have their fair share of exciting slopes too. Even for those who may be more reticent to hit the slopes, Devil’s Head offers great food, live entertainment, cozy shops, and more for the ski resort experience, without ever having to go downhill!
And finally, no trip to Wisconsin Dells would be complete without a journey to Tyrol Basin. With 32 acres of mountainous terrain and 16 trails (including a double Black Diamond), Tyrol Basin is a premier destination for experienced skiers looking to test their skills. Take it from us, skiing in the Dells doesn’t get much more difficult than Tyrol Basin! In addition, Tyrol Basin’s terrain park, featuring two half-pipes for snowboarders, is said to be one of the best in the Midwest. But even beginners are welcome, with easier slopes for even the newest of skiers to enjoy their time on some of Wisconsin’s best slopes.
Be sure to visit Wisconsin Dells this winter and finish out the colder months with an unforgettable experience! Check back for even more seasonal offerings, and let us know what your favorite slopes in the Dells are!
